This version takes effect on September 22, 2026. Until then, the version effective August 8, 2026 continues to apply. What changed is set out in Section 4 — fiddle now states plainly that fitment outcomes are pooled across owners, and that aggregate analytics will reach retailers and manufacturers — a feed that is not built yet — while your personal information never does. As Section 13 requires, notice is given ahead of the date: this page is published now, and the search home and the sign-in screen both link to it.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of fiddle — the website at fiddle.diy, our mobile applications, and the services they provide (together, the "Service"), operated by Buster Studios ("fiddle," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
fiddle is a garage for people who build cars: log your mods, service, and track sessions; identify parts with your camera; research parts and how they fit; publish a public page for your build; find events; and connect with other owners. Some features use artificial intelligence, community data, and third-party catalogs — see Section 7 for what that means for accuracy. fiddle runs on an exchange: fitment answers are pooled from the owners who log them and handed back to the next owner asking the same question. Section 4 sets out what that means for what you contribute.
fiddle does not claim ownership of what you create: your build logs, photos, notes, fitment reports, and everything else you add to your garage remain yours.
Some of what you create is private by default and some becomes public when you choose to publish it. When you publish content — a build page, photos, fitment notes, event attendance, or an event photo — you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as part of operating the Service (for example: showing your build page to people with the link, counting your installed parts in community rankings, or displaying your fitment notes to owners of the same chassis). This license exists solely to run the Service, and it ends when you delete the content or unpublish your page, except where content has already been shared with others or is retained in routine backups for a limited period.
Fitment data is pooled. When you record that a part fits your car — or that it didn't clear, didn't line up, or needed different hardware — that outcome joins fiddle's shared fitment data and is shown to other owners researching the same part on the same chassis. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use those fitment outcomes for that purpose, including after you delete your account, because the pool is cumulative and other owners' answers now depend on it. What travels is the part, the vehicle, and the result — not your name, email, or account, unless you separately published the report on your build page.
Analytics will reach retailers; you will not. This is not running today — no analytics currently go to any retailer or manufacturer, and we are setting it out here before building it rather than afterwards. When it exists, we will aggregate activity across many users — searches, part views, price comparisons, and reported fitment outcomes — into counts and trends, and share those with retailers and parts manufacturers. The purpose will be to direct discounts and cost savings toward what owners are actually shopping for, and to give manufacturers real product feedback about what fits badly or fails early so they can fix it. We do not share your personal information with retailers, manufacturers, advertisers, or anyone else, and nothing in these analytics will identify you. The Privacy Policy sets out the detail.
You are responsible for what you post. Only publish content you have the right to share.
Published content passes through automated screening (including AI review of photos and usernames), and we may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these Terms. You can remove your own published content at any time: taking a build page down deletes the page, its gallery, its follower list, and its traces in community feeds and search. If you believe content on fiddle infringes your rights, contact us at the address in Section 13.
fiddle surfaces information from many sources: AI-generated summaries and fitment notes sourced from the web, community-logged reports from other owners, third-party parts catalogs, marketplace listings, and factory specifications. All of it is informational and provided "as is." Parts compatibility, pricing, specifications, and install guidance can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Always verify fitment and specifications with the manufacturer or seller before purchasing or installing anything. fiddle is not professional mechanical advice, and modifications you make to your vehicle are your responsibility. Performance figures on build pages (power, ETs, lap times) are owner-reported; fiddle displays them without verifying or endorsing them.
fiddle may link to third-party retailers, marketplaces, and manufacturers. Your purchases from them are governed by their terms, not ours. Where fiddle offers paid features (such as vehicle history reports), pricing is shown before purchase; except where required by law or by the app store you purchased through, payments are non-refundable.
fiddle's transfer feature moves a car's log between accounts using a claim code. Transfers are between users: we don't verify vehicle ownership or the accuracy of transferred records, and a transferred log is a record of what the previous owner logged — not a warranty of the vehicle's condition or history.
The Service — its software, design, name, logo, and curated catalog — belongs to us or our licensors. These Terms don't grant you any right to use them except as needed to use the Service normally. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service.
You can stop using fiddle at any time, and can request deletion of your account and synced data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk for other users, or expose us to legal liability. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (4, 7, 10, 12) survive.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any information on it is accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, fiddle and Buster Studios will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or vehicle damage arising from your use of the Service — including damage arising from parts, modifications, or installations researched or logged through fiddle. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If a change is material, we'll give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Buster Studios operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
